Sunday September 7: Bienvenue à Paris !

On arrival at Charles de Gaulle airport, you’ll be welcomed by your driver who will take you to the charming 4 star boutique hotel Maison Favart in the heart of Paris which features a heated pool and wellness area. After settling in, you’ll be greeted at 6pm by Janine Marsh  and Nancy McGee, Tour with Absolutely representative for a meet and greet cocktail at the hotel followed by dinner in the lovely Bistrot Vivienne in a very Parisian setting of the 19th century.

Monday September 8:  Opera house, Notre Dame,  wine tasting & concert

You’ll start your Perfect Paris day with pizzazz at one of the most beautiful opera houses in the world, the opulent Opéra Garnier.  After the tour, you’ll head to the left bank, one of Janine’s favorite areas in Paris.  Not only will you have time to browse books in the cozy and old school  Shakespeare & Co bookstore but you’ll  also have time to grab one of  the best puff pastries in Paris at Odette’s just around the corner.  You’ll have French  crepes at the renowned Breizch café.  Your next stop will be at the fully restored  Notre Dame Cathedral where Janine will give you a personalized tour of the iconic UNESCO world heritage site.  At the end of the afternoon, you’ll be welcomed into a private room for a food and wine pairing event followed by a classical music concert in intimacy and splendor of the medieval Sainte Chapelle.

Tuesday September 9: Photoshoot, Montmartre & tea time with Janine Marsh 

Today, you will embark on the Perfect Paris landmark photo shoot with “Miss Paris” photographer ending in Montmartre where you will have free time. Back at the hotel for cakes and tea,  you will be in for a very special experience where  Janine will open up to you to speak about her life in rural France, her novels, her favorite places, favorite foods and favorite folks.  For dinner, you’ll mingle with the locals at the lively Café Riche which first opened its doors  in 1791  to the likes of  Flaubert, Dumas, Maupassant and Emile Zola.

Wednesday September 10:   Ducasse,  Monet & Comedy Show

Today you will  don an apron and let yourself be guided to prepare a meal concocted  by a master-chef teacher at the atelier school of one of the most renowned chefs in the world, Frenchman Alain Ducasse. He has been awarded 21 Michelin stars throughout his career and now oversees 34 kitchens in 7 countries, and his atelier is legendary.  After enjoying the fabulous lunch you will have prepared, you’ll be taken to the Monet museum where you will fall under the spell of the master of impressionism’s works.  Back at the hotel, you’ll have some time off to prepare for the hit comedy show “How to become a Parisian in an Hour”. Dinner will be at leisure.

Thursday September 11:  Versailles & Moulin Rouge cabaret

When in Paris, you can’t miss going on a day trip to the King Louis XIV’s opulent Versailles Palace. Your expert guide will  take you to discover the magnificent rooms in the palace and the gardens. You’ll be treated to lunch fit for a King with a menu inspired by the royal court at the restaurant Ore by Ducasse, in one of the palace pavilions overlooking the Trianon Estate so loved by Queen Marie-Antoinette. In the evening be wowed by cabaret and cancan dancing at the Moulin Rouge. Founded in 1889, it’s a Paris institution.

Friday September 12: Carnavalet museum, Dior Gallery & Ladurée

Your last day will begin with  Carnavalet museum dedicated to the history of Paris where we will take you to our favorite rooms.  You will end your Perfect Paris trip with an ultimate french flair at the most legendary “maison de couture” the Dior Gallery.   You will not regret stepping onto the grand while marble staircase  while admiring the beautifully staged gowns and  delving into the  designer’s road to fame.  Lunch will be at the quintessential Ladurée flagship tea parlour on the Champs Elysées where you’ll feel so chic nibbling on a decadent macaron  under  twinkling  chandeliers.  Your farewell dinner will be at the  sumptuously refined 2 Michelin starred  Grand Vefour  prepared by talented  chef Guy Martin located in the arcades of the Palais Royal since 1784.

Saturday September 13:  Au revoir Paris !

Time to grab your last croissant and café au lait before bidding farewell to your new friends.  Transfers will be arranged to Roissy Charles de Gaulle Paris airport in the morning.

Deposit
To secure a place on our tour, we ask that you fill in our reservation form, which indicates that a 30% deposit will be required. The balance will be due 2 months prior to the tour.

Included
Breakfast and all meals indicated in the program with wine at dinner, gratuities in restaurants, taxes, professional tour facilitator & guide,  activities and admission fees as indicated in program, airport transfers on the first day of the tour and in the morning on the last day of the tour, transportation by subway and on coaches for day trips, accommodation in a 4-star boutique hotel with a pool and wellness area.

Not Included
Round trip airfare to France, tips to tour guides and coach drivers,  any personal souvenirs or purchases outside of this tour and not indicated above, additional wine, beer or spirits beyond what is offered at meals,  spa services at the hotel, travel insurance (highly recommended) and trip medical coverage (required for travelers over 50 years of age).

Terms and Conditions
If insufficient numbers of participants register for the tour or in the event of conditions deemed unsafe for our clients, the tour may be cancelled or postponed. While we endeavor to operate all trips as described,  we reserve the right to change the trip itinerary owing to circumstances beyond our control or if more interesting opportunities arise. Any changes will be of similar or superior quality and  content. If Janine is unable to travel, the tour will go ahead as planned with Nancy McGee, Tour With Absolutely representative.

Cancellation Policy
This is a packaged group tour and non-refundable, even in case of injury, illness or personal emergency. Cancellation must be notified by email to emma@tourwithabsolutely.com. We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance including medical assistance and cancellation. If you get sick before the trip departs or during it, you will need your own medical and trip cancellation insurance to cover any costs incurred.

In addition, you waive the right to inspect or approve the finished product wherein your likeness appears.

Arrival and Departure
You will be welcomed on arrival by author Janine Marsh and Nancy McGee, Tour With Absolutely representative, at the meet and greet cocktail followed by dinner. Your Paris airport transfers on the first day of the tour and in the morning of the day of departure are included. What to Pack
European adaptors, phone chargers, medication, warm clothing, umbrella, comfortable walking shoes. Amenities, iron and hairdryer are in every room. Laundry service is available. 

Weather
We expect average  temperatures of max 25°C / 77°F and min 13°C / 55°F.

Physical Requirements
This tour is  “physically active.”  Tour guests must be able to walk without assistance and carry their own luggage. The best way to get around Paris and avoid traffic jams is to take the metro which will be the main means of transportation in the city.  You may be on your feet, walking and standing, on uneven sidewalks,  going up and down stairs in the metro, for a few hours, indoors and outdoors, rain or shine. If you need help climbing onto a tour bus or if you are winded after walking 50 feet, Emma will have other trips for you to join.

You will be  staying in  4-star boutique @La Maison Favart in Paris.
